Marriage proposals are good for business &#8211; in fact it excites the staff and lifts the mood of the entire restaurant. The Commander&#8217;s Palace in New Orleans gets a proposal every week or two. What\u2019s in it for you to be the \u201cproposal\u201d restaurant? The happy couple will (likely) become regulars for the rest of their lives! What can your restaurant do to offer a romantic, once-in-a-lifetime\nmoment? Well, before we answer that, remember to factor in your food\/beverage\nratio: Pair special adult beverages with your food items, for one price, but\nmake sure to separate food and alcohol sales for compliant record keeping. For\nexample: 1 bottle of wine, 2 entr\u00e9es, sides, 2 desserts for $125. Another\nimportant tip: be sure to not discount any alcohol after 9pm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABC Consulting has been scouring the\ninternet looking for some Valentine promotion ideas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Pauli\u2019s in Boston actually includes\nthe diamond in their offer. A princess-cut diamond tucked into the bun for\n$3,000. That is a BBQ sandwich she&#8217;ll love forever! Can you think of a creative\nway to add a diamond or a \u201cwill you marry me?\u201d card? <\/li><li>Offer a special &#8220;Will You Marry\nMe?&#8221; dessert with room on the plate for a ring box (that they bring!).<\/li><li>Offer appetizers that are typically\ncategorized as aphrodisiacs (i.e. oysters and strawberries).<\/li><li>Offer a fixed menu for Valentine&#8217;s\nDay with simple choices, all courses included. <\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/upserve.com\/\">Upserve<\/a> suggests eliminating gender pronouns &#8211; including all that\nwant to be romantic, this Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/li><li>Include a nearby couples massage Spa\nPackage as part of the package. <\/li><li>Include a hotel stay, at a nearby hotel.&nbsp; <\/li><li>Include a flower on each plate, for\nthe first course.<\/li><li>Have a professional photographer, on\nhand, to capture the moment.<\/li><li>Include a bouquet of flowers for the\nbride-to-be.<\/li><li>Include a champagne toast after the\n\u201cYes!\u201d<\/li><li>Bring in especially romantic music &#8211;\na pianist or a harpist can make things especially romantic, if you don&#8217;t have\nroom for a jazz band.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\nare some start advertising ideas: 1) Make SURE to advertise your promotion on\nall social media channels 2) Publish your menu, now, with a photo of a romantic\ntable 3) Photograph a &#8220;Will You Marry Me?&#8221; dessert plate, in your\nrestaurant 4) Price your Proposal Package menu, now &#8211; so that he has time to\nget the ring and make a reservation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is overlooked but terribly\nimportant: make sure that your staff is on alert for proposal night! People\ngiggling or gawking can really ruin a romantic moment.&nbsp; Practice the \u201cPoker Face\u201d \u2013 that way no one\nis tipped off, made to feel uncomfortable for a \u201cno!\u201d or by congratulating too\nearly.
