ABC Consulting is excited about helping our Virginia businesses figure out how to make more money in a downward-turning economy! We recently licensed Quickstop 777 (in Weber City) with a Grocery Store with Beer off premises. They are a store first, but because they have an ABC license AND  received their ABC license by the June 30th (deadline for all games to be placed), thanks to our help they were able to offer Skill Games to their customers. Skill Gaming license! This game\u2019s taxes are paid for by the distributor, but the Quickstop gets the business and a percentage of the sales. All taxes go toward the COVID-19 relief fund for the state of Virginia. Win:Win!<\/p>\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t even know what Skill Gaming is, these are the slot-machine-looking devices that are in convenience stores and truck stops. A player puts cash money in and if they win they get a printed ticket that is redeemable for cash. The game prints a ticket and the ticket is given to an employee of the location \u2013 that employee gives that player cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, let\u2019s go back and recap what has happened, at the beginning of 2020. The General Assembly voted to ban skilled gaming, in Virginia. Then COVID-19 happened and the Governor overturned the ban on Skill Gaming, provided that these Skill Gaming distributors pay a $1,200 tax, to the COVID-19 Relief Fund. So now, all distributors of these Skill Games must pay $1,200 per month, per machine, to the state of Virginia, and all games must be registered with the Virginia ABC Authority. ABC Consulting is helping with that \u2013 and this time, we helped Quickstop 777!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
