Tomorrow night, about this time, the clock will be a few minutes from midnight and several bars and restaurants in Virginia will be breaking the law when they hand you that free glass of champagne! Don\u2019t be one of them! Don\u2019t put your liquor permit at risk. Before you host your New Year\u2019s Eve party at your restaurant, bar, or other beer & wine alcohol permit, know the laws! If you are serving alcohol on New Year\u2019s Eve \u2013 remember the \u2018rules,\u2019 below!<\/p>\n\n\n

Some New Year\u2019s Eve events advertise and all-you-can-drink parties for a set price, and that is illegal.  One way parties can legally work around this is by handing out a set number of drink tickets for the event, instead of it being all-you-can-drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t give away any alcohol, even a champagne toast, at midnight \u2013 it is illegal! If you want to give away a toast, include it in your ticket price or your dinner price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We just assisted a client with obtaining a one-day license for her large New Year\u2019s Eve celebration and she is so very happy that her license has been approved, in time! We also had a big push this month to get skill games in place because the restrictions were lifted \u2013 thanks Crystal Stump, for getting all businesses informed, games moved and businesses licensed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Anderson helped several businesses getting their employees knowledgeable about compliance and alcohol restrictions and have less violations <\/strong>and with the annual training. Thanks, Kevin, for all your hard work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we are bragging about our employees: BIG Shout Out to Natasha Harris! Natasha got a Retail License approved in the middle of the holidays. This is a particularly difficult time of year to make things happen. People are working less, on vacation and generally not reachable \u2013 and our employees to keep their nose down and pushing forward to make things happen for our clients!
