Happily Ever After Alcohol License

Happily-Ever-After Alcohol License

Wanted to share a quick story with you that happened last month. An applicant started an online retail form at our website: VAabc.com, a few weeks ago. He never actually completed the form, so we just checked in to help. The gentleman from Steak Stone House had also started another application (and finished it and submitted it) with Virginia ABC Authority. But he hadn’t received any calls from them and was getting nervous. After talking about it, we told him about ABC Consulting services and what we offered to restaurants. He was truly interested, and he asked me a few more questions. He was becoming more intrigued and started voicing more concerns about being frustrated by his experience with Virginia ABC Authority. He had already followed up with Virginia ABC Authority to find out how his application was coming along and they told him that they had never received it. He had paid for tracking on his package and it said that it had been delivered – last week.  We assured him that this is common (VA ABC is sooooo busy processing applications that it is common for an incomplete application or an application with too many errors to be set to the side while they push the others through). Because he hired ABC Consulting, it would be our job to assist him through the application process and assure him of an accurate and complete submission. He did decide to purchase the application assistance package, from us.

Since then, the new client has taken AND PASSED our online T.O.A.S.T. VA ® training – no downtime once the license is posted! We also followed up with VA ABC Authority and the application was found, but had too many errors to process, so the original was shredded. Our team has filled out the forms, resubmitted and the restaurant will be able to open, as intended!

A couple of Shout Outs: The Steak Stone House was to open 60 days from the original filing and didn’t have any wiggle room, in the timing. This license was actually APPROVED on the 30th day of a 30-day objection period! BOOM! This is the fastest possible good-news story! ABC Consulting (and Natasha Harris, ABC Consulting’s WONDER WOMAN of alcohol licensing!) would love to give a shout out to the agent and the supervisor of the Chesapeake Regional ABC office for working with us for such a fast approval!  And our team member, Natasha? Without her, the license would still be pending! She has amazing attention to detail (there were errors found on both the lease and health permit – had she not caught them, the license approval would have been delayed!).  Steak Stone House employees got the training that they needed to be responsible servers and sellers of alcohol. The license has been approved. Now, all you have to do is meet your steak:

All’s well that ends well – best of luck on beating the 10-second timer! Find Steak Stone House in Virginia Beach! 2029 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach, Virginia
